US Tariff Surcharge API — Forced-Labor Tariff, IEEPA History & Change Alerts
The IEEPA tariffs were struck down in February 2026, the 10% Section 122 surcharge that followed expired on 24 July 2026, and a forced-labor Section 301 tariff of 10–12.5% on 60 economies replaced it. The Zentria Flow API delivers current rates within 1–2 hours of Federal Register publication, with webhook alerts so your systems react automatically.

Why Surcharge Volatility Matters for Your Systems
Reciprocal tariff executive order — country-specific rates from 10% to 54%
90-day pause announced for most countries (10% baseline applied)
China rate escalated to 145% (IEEPA + §301 combined)
US-China trade talks — China rate reduced to 30% for 90-day period
Supreme Court strikes down the entire IEEPA tariff stack
Section 122 flat 10% surcharge takes effect — Section 232 goods exempt
CIT rules Section 122 invalid for three plaintiffs; Federal Circuit appeal pending, surcharge still collected
Section 122 expires; forced-labor Section 301 tariff takes effect — 10% or 12.5% on 60 economies, computers, phones, chips and energy exempt
A hardcoded tariff rate in your ERP or quoting tool becomes stale within days of any executive action. The API ensures your systems always use the current rate.

What is the US Tariff Surcharge API?
The Zentria Flow Tariff Surcharge API provides real-time access to US tariff surcharge rates and their changes. It tracked the IEEPA reciprocal tariffs through their 2025–2026 lifecycle and the 10% Section 122 surcharge that followed, and it now serves the forced-labor Section 301 tariff (10% or 12.5% by country, with U.S. note 52 exemptions) in force since 24 July 2026. The API delivers current rates, the full historical record (including the dead IEEPA and Section 122 rates, for refund and drawback work), and webhook alerts when rates change for the countries and HTS codes you track.
Why do US tariff surcharge rates change so frequently?
Surcharge regimes are imposed by executive action rather than through Congress, so they change abruptly. In 2025–2026: the April 2025 reciprocal tariffs, the 90-day pause, China's escalation to 145% and the de-escalation after US–China talks; the Supreme Court ruling of 20 February 2026 that ended the IEEPA tariffs; a flat 10% Section 122 surcharge from 24 February until its 150-day limit ran out on 24 July; and the forced-labor Section 301 tariff that replaced it the same day. That tariff is itself being challenged in the Court of International Trade. For companies with high tariff exposure, this volatility makes real-time data essential.
How quickly does the API reflect tariff changes?
Zentria Flow monitors the Federal Register, USTR announcements, and CBP CSMS (Cargo Systems Messaging Service) in real time. Tariff changes are reflected in the API within 1–2 hours of official publication. Webhook subscribers receive notifications within minutes of a rate change for their tracked country-HTS code combinations.
Can I set up alerts for tariff changes that affect my business?
Yes. The Tariff Alert API lets you subscribe to specific origin country + HTS code combinations. When a rate changes — whether a forced-labor tier or exemption change, a new Section 301 or Section 232 action, or an AD/CVD order — you receive a webhook payload with the old rate, the new rate, the effective date, and the regulatory source. You can configure alerts via API or through the Zentria Flow dashboard.
Does the API include the historical IEEPA tariff rates?
Yes. The /v1/tariff-history endpoint returns the complete rate history for any HTS code + origin country combination, including all effective dates and the regulatory source (Federal Register citation) for each change — the struck-down IEEPA rates included. This is useful for IEEPA refund claims, duty drawback calculations, cost basis adjustments, and compliance documentation.
