NetSuite Landed Cost Integration: Auto-Calculate Duties on Every PO

NetSuite's built-in landed cost module requires manual duty rate entry. Zentria Flow integrates via REST API to automatically calculate the full duty stack — MFN, Section 301/232/122, FTA reductions, VAT — on Purchase Order creation and writes the breakdown back to your NetSuite records.

How It Works

1

Connect NetSuite

OAuth 2.0 REST connection in under 5 minutes. No middleware required.

2

PO created in NetSuite

When a Purchase Order is created or updated, Zentria Flow receives a webhook.

3

Auto-classify HTS code

AI classifies product description to 10-digit HTS code with confidence score.

4

Calculate full landed cost

Engine runs: MFN + FTA + S301/232/122 + VAT + freight + broker + MPF in <2s.

5

Write back to NetSuite

Landed cost components posted to PO custom fields. CFO PDF attached to record.

6

Alert on variance

If actual customs duty differs >5% from estimate, procurement team gets notified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NetSuite have built-in landed cost calculation?

NetSuite has a basic 'Landed Cost' module that allows users to manually allocate additional costs (freight, duty, handling) to purchase orders. However, it does not automatically calculate duty rates based on HTS codes, does not connect to live tariff databases, does not account for Section 301/232/122 surcharges, and does not apply FTA reductions automatically. Every rate must be entered manually, which creates errors and is extremely time-consuming for companies with diverse sourcing portfolios.

How does Zentria Flow integrate with NetSuite?

Zentria Flow connects to NetSuite via the NetSuite REST API using OAuth 2.0 token-based authentication. No SuiteScript customization or middleware is required. Once connected, Zentria Flow listens for PO creation/update webhooks and automatically calculates landed cost, then writes the breakdown (duty, VAT, freight, broker fee, total landed cost) back to configurable custom fields on the NetSuite Purchase Order record. The integration is configurable from the Zentria Flow ERP integration dashboard.

Which NetSuite editions does the integration support?

Zentria Flow integrates with NetSuite OneWorld, NetSuite ERP (standard), and NetSuite SuiteCommerce. The REST API integration works across all editions that support NetSuite's REST Record and SuiteQL APIs (available from NetSuite 2020.1+). For OneWorld instances with multiple subsidiaries, the integration supports per-subsidiary currency and destination-country configuration.

How is the landed cost written back to NetSuite?

Zentria Flow writes landed cost components to custom fields on the NetSuite Purchase Order record. Standard field mapping: custom_landed_cost_duty (customs duty amount), custom_landed_cost_vat (VAT/GST), custom_landed_cost_freight (freight estimate), custom_landed_cost_total (total landed cost), custom_hs_code (classified HTS code), custom_duty_rate (effective duty rate %). Field names are configurable. A PDF version of the full landed cost report is attached to the PO record in the NetSuite File Cabinet.

Does the integration handle Section 301 tariffs for China-origin goods?

Yes. Zentria Flow's engine automatically identifies Chinese-origin goods and applies the correct Section 301 list rate (List 1–3 at 25%, List 4A at 7.5%) on top of the MFN base duty. It also applies Section 122 (10% flat, expiring July 24, 2026) and Section 232 where applicable. The breakdown in NetSuite shows each component separately so your finance team can see exactly why the landed cost is what it is.
