Landed Cost Excel Template — Free, With Working Formulas
Enter seven numbers — product cost, units, freight, insurance, delivery, your duty rates and broker fee — and the template calculates the full 2026 duty stack (MFN + §301 + forced-labor tariff), MPF with its min/max bounds, HMF, VAT and your true per-unit landed cost. No email wall, no locked cells.

The Formulas Inside — Line by Line
Every formula in the template, explained. Build your own version or audit ours.
| Line | Formula | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Customs value (US = FOB) | = product cost (invoice total) | US duty base excludes freight; EU/UK use CIF instead |
| Total duty | = customs value × (MFN% + §301% + forced-labor%) | Stack all applicable tariff layers |
| MPF | = MIN(MAX(value × 0.3464%, $34.58), $670.86) | US MPF, FY2027 bounds |
| HMF | = value × 0.125% (sea only) | Zero for air freight |
| VAT / GST | = (value + duty) × VAT% | 0% for US; ~20% EU/UK — charged on duty-inclusive base |
| Total landed cost | = product + freight + insurance + local delivery + duty + VAT + fees + brokerage | The number that belongs in your margin math |
| Per-unit landed cost | = total landed cost ÷ units | Compare against your selling price, not the invoice price |
Worked Example (the template's default numbers)
| Product cost — 500 units from China | $10,000.00 |
| Freight + insurance + local delivery | $1,200.00 |
| Duty stack: 5% MFN + 25% §301 + 12.5% forced-labor | $4,250.00 |
| MPF + HMF + broker | $172.14 |
| Total landed cost | $15,622.14 |
| Per-unit landed cost (vs $20 invoice price) | $31.24 |
| Effective uplift on invoice | +56.2% |
A $20/unit product that actually costs $31.24 to land is the classic margin killer — if you priced at $35 thinking "75% margin," your real margin is about 11%.
